Job Title: State Lead Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Track EBLL cases using Indiana’s NBS system and ensure timely case management and closure
- Collaborate weekly with the Case Surveillance Program Manager to review caseloads and issues
- Work with Data Analysts to monitor testing trends and identify potential risk factors
- Coordinate with Program Coordinators for home inspections and IDOH staff involvement
- Provide technical support and updates on code changes to regional health contacts
- Occasionally communicate directly with affected families for re-testing and home visits
- Travel within the assigned district to meet with local health departments
- Represent IDOH at public health meetings and review guidance documents and grant applications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of lead and healthy homes regulations, specifically 410 IAC 29
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to track cases across multiple counties
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and webinar/conferencing tools
- Ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality and handle sensitive information tactfully
- Comfortable working independently and making decisions within program guidelines
- Ability to analyze and document processes and escalate issues appropriately
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, or related field (Preferred)
- Interest and/or experience in lead toxicity, case management, or public health policy

Collaborate with program staff on initiatives, development, and funding projects.
Participate in ADDM calls and coordination meetings.
Assist with educational materials and webpage content development.
Maintain hospital contact lists and record request logs.
Handle public inquiries and direct them appropriately.
🔹 Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Genetics, Nursing, Early Childhood Education/Development, Special Education, or related field.
2+ years experience in clinical/medical abstraction.
Proficiency with database systems & web-based tools (REDCap, EMR, electronic education records).
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
🔹 Preferred Skills:
Background in autism spectrum disorder or special education.
Experience working with hospital staff and physicians.
