All candidates for this role must be experienced in generating reports in PowerBI by pulling data from SAP.

Beyond that, experience using Microsoft PBI connector. Knowledge of developing PBI connectors is extremely helpful in this job as this company continues to build out their SAP instance.

Position Summary: Reason the Position Exists and Fundamental Purpose

The Reporting Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards using SAP and Power BI. This role requires expertise in both platforms and the ability to guide business users to find and use their information efficiently. The specialist will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their information and reporting needs and translate them into effective data visualizations and reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with all areas of the ACP business to understand information needs and identify the best delivery method for each need using in-house systems. Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Provide expertise as to the contents of SAP built-in reports which would be best for various situations, and where data resides in the various ACP systems. Design, develop, test and maintain reports using SAP native tools and Power BI. Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all SAP reports. Optimize report performance for efficient data retrieval and display. Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI. Connect Power BI to various data sources and ensure seamless data integration. Utilize data visualization techniques to present data in a clear and actionable manner. Optimize Power BI performance by managing datasets, data models, and report rendering. Develop and execute complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various databases. Integrate SQL queries into SAP and Power BI reports to enhance data accuracy and comprehensiveness. Ensure SQL code is optimized for performance and adheres to best practices. Provide training and support to end-users on SAP and Power BI tools and techniques. Develop user guides and documentation for SAP and Power BI reports. Continuously improve reporting processes and methodologies. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in SAP, Power BI, and SQL reporting. Implement best practices for report design and development.

 

Required Skills/Licenses/Certificates

Excellent data visualization and analytical skills. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to execute these duties with minimal oversight in daily activity. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with business users and IT teams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Relevant certifications in SAP, Power BI, and SQL are a plus.

 

 

Technical Skills and Knowledge: List specific machinery, computer programs and other special skills and knowledge required.

Strong technical skills in SAP and Power BI. Proficiency in SQL querying and database management.

 

Work Environment

This position operates on a hybrid work model, offering flexibility with a combination of remote and in-office work. The in-office environment is a professional and collaborative atmosphere. Hybrid employees are expected to establish and maintain a dedicated and professional home office environment to facilitate optimal productivity and focus. In both remote and in-person settings, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.

 

Experience and Education Experience 5 years of professional experience with data analytics, presentation, and report development in an SAP environment. 5 years of Power BI experience Proven experience in a corporate environment working with various levels of business leaders. Experience with database administration is a plus. Experience in automotive manufacturing is a plus Data Warehouse knowledge is a plus   Education Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Other experience and education may be considered.
