PDX Fursuit and Cosplay Bowling March 16

Hey again everyone,
I wanted to let you all know that Portland is finally getting it's own Furry bowling event! It's
been a want for quite awhile for not only myself, but many others.
Fursuits will absolutely be allowed, and we encourage anyone without a fursuit to dress up in ears,
tails, whatever. This is not open to just Furries, we invite the entire Geek community to take part.
Anime Cosplay, Pirates, SCA, etc. We should have access to a room that can be used as a headless
lounge and changing area as well.
This event is being used as a Fundraiser for Furlandia. The proceeds will be going towards initial
operating and materials costs for the convention (con books, badges, lanyards, etc).
This will be happening at Hollywood Bowl, Saturday, March 16th! Hollywood Bowl is very MAX/Trimet
accessible. It is literally right off the Hollywood MAX stop, I believe one stop east of Lloyd
Center, if not mistaken.
The bowling itself will start at 2pm, but we we want everyone participating to arrive between 1:15
and 1:30 if possible so that we can get everything organized. We expect the bowling will last about
2 hours give or take. We will also be holding some raffles, which may run beyond that a little. So
expect us to be there until 5pm to be safe.
If this event is successful, we have every intention of making it a normal Portland event, to run
opposite the Seattle bowling meet as much as possible. About once every 2-4 months, we haven't
decided yet.
After some negotiating I've secured the best initial deal that I think I could, for such a great
location. This is entirely due to PDXFurs (organization) status as a nonprofit organization. We have a bottom
line cost, and the overage all goes towards Furlandia. If it works out well, we may have even more
flexibility next time.
The cost for this event is $15. We require that you preregister for this event, which you can do by
going to http://www.pdxfurs.com/apps/webstore/ . You may also find raffle tickets and drink tokens
for sale there.
Payments are entirely handled by PayPal's system, and you can pay without a PayPal account there
too. No one will see your private information. We require this because we need a fairly accurate
estimated headcount that is committed to being there. IF YOU CANNOT preregister for whatever reason
but are committed to going, email me privately to work out the details. If we don't have you down as
being going, and therefore gave a smaller headcount ahead of time to the establishment, we can't
promise you access to a lane if it's busy.
WHAT YOU GET FOR THE COST: It entitles you to two games, and includes shoe rental. We may throw in
some extra stuff. It also provides access to drinks from the bar if 21+ for a flat $5's each,
obviously best used on liquor. I believe it only applies to well drinks. Seems high, but for a
bowling alley it's not. You must get drink tokens from me or purchase them in advance from the site,
the bar will not honor the price without a token. We are working on getting a deal on arcade tokens
as a possibility.
