JOB PURPOSE
A Senior Associate Java Technologist is considered as a senior contributor for complex modules of work by bringing deep core technology expertise and relevant business subject matter expertise to the table.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Providing technical expertise for every phase of the project lifecycle—from concept
development to solution design, implementation, optimization and support.
•Interacts with a set of clients (client senior developers and architects) to create technology
specifications from business requirements for one of the modules within the project
•Prepares the technical design of the more complex technology components within the
module (one or more of client/web presentation tier, server tier, data access and data
model,integration component, package function customization)
•Assists the architect in articulating the pros and cons of using a certain technology stack or
component or design pattern versus another to the clients and project team and drives
selection of technologies, designs to come up with the optimal architecture
•Drives the performance tuning, re-design and re-factoring for a module
•Contributes to designing and implementing the build, release process as well as system
configuration and deployment characteristics of the application
•Implements (hands-on) the module components based on Sapient and industry best
practices.
•Mentors the team (people working on the module and other project team members) on
technology concepts and the Sapient way and best practices for design, implementation and
other processes
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
•Has strong experience in Core Java
•Clear understanding, coding and design experience on REST services, JSON/XML based
integrations
•Experience with SOA implementations. Understands the principles behind it.
•Completely hands-on with development.
•Understands trends and concepts such as MicroServices, Service Discovery.
•Exposure to stacks/frameworks such as Zookeeper, Helix, Shiro etc. Ability to pick up and
understand new frameworks quickly. Eagerness and attitude to pick up new things.
•Understands DevOps. Knows CI and CD practices. Has worked in projects where CI was
setup.
•Exposure to agile and TDD processes
Business Knowledge: Domain experience would be a plus
