I posted this to sakai dev the other day:

We are just about to implement a drag and drop interface (using HTML5) to My Workspace Resources – we want people to use Resources as an on-line file drop gizmo.

Steve Swinsburg pointed out that I should open this up for discussion on this list.

In short we are going to use the Resources Entity Broker API that we have just written as part of another project and develop some HTML5 to allow people to drag files from their desktop into My Workspace.

I'm wondering if we should join forces here? There are some good ideas in the proposals that have been submitted to tackle this one.

cheers,
Steve

For some reason I am unable to reply via email so I am posting via the web UI.

I am very happy to collaborate. We will start work in June I think.I will see if I can forward our (internal) project proposal.

The resources API is something we have just developed, it is not quite finished and our workload is such that we cannot commit the code back just at the moment but we will do so at the first available opportuinity.

Forgive me for being late into the discussions but

1/ what are the GSOC time-scales? (start / finish)

2/ where can i find out more about this particular item?  is there a project proposal?

It turns out that the work we have done on the Resources API does not instantiate many of the methods that we believe will be used in a drag and drop project.

We will still commit our work back and it may be of some use in this project but we think more work on the resources EB API will have to be undertaken.
