I was just sifting through the list of medicines to procure from DK and an idea struck me. This also has reference to the Blood Check camp organised by Axis bank. More than anything, Ramesh Sethurman mentioned that many of our Samithi people have diabetes/BP and if we can procure medicines from DK at less cost.

The idea is simple. every year, in coordination with Plasma Blood Bank, we organise a blood donation drive. Can we plan to organise a blood check-up camp?

As an initial step, we can organise this check up for Samithi members and Bal Vikas parents. Later we can plan o do it on a larger scale.

Of course, this will cost us. But the idea is if we can consult the Plasma Blood Bank to offer some discounts for testing. The following things can be offered to be checked:

1. Blood Group
2. Blood Haemoglobin Level
3. Blood Sugar Level
4. Blood Pressure
5. Doctoral prescription for medicine to be consumed
6. Health counselling to be practised

The advantages of such a camp are many. The initial lot of medicines we can procure from DK at concessional rate. We can get in touch with all the samithi members and Bal Vikas parents. This activity will be self sustaining in that we can disburse the medicines if need be in our regular medical camps. 

Please let me know if this can be worked out further.
