Also in the doc the examples with variable fields have this token for the field number and name: \^FN12"First Name" but in my exported ZPL code I see only static text. Do I export it in the right way?
This requires that you have Zebra Designer Pro. If you are not creating enough templates to justify purchasing the for pay version of designer then you can hand modify the ZPL from the free version of Designer to embed the variables.
The next step was to use NI Visa Driver Wizard to identify the zebra USB printer which was already plugged in with its Zebra windows drivers installed. Using the wizard you get the product ID and vendor ID for the printer and can let then the wizard create a driver for you.
Verify that the Leave Leading Zeros in Native INC/DEC check box is NOT checked. (To prevent the field from printing leading zeros.)Command in the Zebra ZPL manual.

Since we originally published best practices to help avoid some of these issues, the number of test failures has decreased and we recieved more questions about how to implement them. This document is an attempt to improve on the original and make it easier to develop with them.
This recall expansion involves power supply units that serve as the power source for models of Zebra manufactured thermal industrial printers (sold under the Zebra brand, including co-branded or re-branded) used to make bar codes and other commercial labels. The recall was originally announced in December 2016 and is now being expanded to include power supply units manufactured by the FSP Group between October 1, 2006 and December 31, 2012. The Zebra logo or FSP North America logo, date code and part number are printed on the power supply unit. We want to send single print to zebra printer. Printer prints dynamically multiple copies with command ^PQn. Without loosing multiple prints feature at printer level, we also need to generate unique label number and embed in QR Code.
I thought I posted a longer write up stating the software I use which is from Zebra .. Zebradesigner 3 . I watched a few YouTube videos how to setup my labels then the software is pretty easy to use.
In this software you can choose multiple barcodes both 1D and 2D. You type in or copy paste the text you want choose the Barcode you want ( easy as choosing a font in Word) and the software makes the Barcode for you. You just need to choose the size in mils you want. When you choose the size it spaces and sizes the barcode to be read by scanners. You can also tell the software to put the text by the barcode or place a text box and type in or paste the text you want to appear by your barcode. I put the item name by mine so I know what to put the label on. After printing out a test label and making sure my scanner reads it, since I try for small 1/4" 2D barcode labels which pushes the limits for size, I save the label so I can just come back later and tell it to print how many I need. The File save as feature is just like saving a document to a folder, I create folder for these labels only. I organize it by categories to fit my needs so the labels are quick and easy to find to print again later. I also saw you can purchase the Zebradesigner 3 Pro software that can pull data from a database or excel spreadsheet, which is how Square exports items as an Excel Spreadsheet.
I asked Zebra about their new ZSB series printers. The good news is the price, bad news is right now there are limited types of labels for them since they do not use standard thermal printer labels but take a special cartridge of labels. the number of labels per cartridge depends on the size of the label and each cartridge from what I saw is about $18.00. So I would still go with the Zebra 420 refurbished off amazon or the new 421 series from Zebra if the ZSB series does not offer the label size your looking for. Currently from Zebra there are only 8 sizes
We are fairly new to Shopify. We have PO's that can have over one hundred sku's on them. We import the items using a CSV file. When the PO is created we are unable to print directly from the po in the Stocky Inventory Management. We have been tagging them in the CSV with the purchase order number so we can print based on the tag in the product section of Shopify. I have no idea why the Zebra printer is not compatible for printing from the Stocky App when Shopify sells these as a compatible printer.
The Zebra LP 2824 Plus printer has a number of built-in functions that can be accessed via the feed button. These functions should be outlined in your owners manual. There are only a few that you will need to deal with when configuring your printer for Heartland Retail and/or troubleshooting issues.
