Dear St. Seraphim Parents,
St. Seraphim’s is growing, and we are blessed with many young families. With our young families in mind, we write this email out of an abundance of concern for our children’s safety.
Our Cathedral is located in an urban area, and while we continue to work to make our grounds welcoming and safe, they are not without potential risks.
We have noticed many instances of our children without direct adult supervision wandering inside the church, around the playground, outside in parking areas, and along the alleyway. This situation raises serious safety concerns, especially considering traffic, unfamiliar individuals passing by, and areas not designed for unsupervised play.
We request that all parents keep their children close and under supervision at all times while on church grounds. Children should not be left to roam unsupervised before, during, or after services. If your child needs to leave the service, or visit the bathroom, we ask that an adult accompany them.
This reminder is not a criticism but is expressed out of concern and love for our children. It is our shared responsibility to ensure our parish remains a safe space for everyone, especially the youngest members.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
In Christ,
SSOC Parish Council and SSOC Security Team
