Elder Savvas Speaking at St. Catherine’s Mission Tonight

Please see below an announcement and information from Fr. Joseph Chaffee. He indicated that anyone is invited to attend this talk at St. Catherine's Mission this evening. The Mission is now located at 5505 Ramey Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76112.

Glory to God, we have the venerable Elder Savvas of Mt. Athos (Agioritis), abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery in Edessa, Greece is coming to speak to our little Mission and to our guests this evening, Wed. May 27th, after Vespers (@6pm) so around 6:45. This was sudden pleasant surprise. Please get the word out not only to our own Mission, but to the other parishes as well, as this a great blessing!"

Archimandrite Savvas Agiorites

He is a prominent Eastern Orthodox hieromonk, spiritual father, and theologian known for his global teachings on living a spiritual life.

Background: Before taking monastic vows, he earned degrees in both Dentistry and Theology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and practiced as a dentist.

Teachings: He is highly regarded for his patristic teachings, discernment, and emphasizing the importance of not remaining silent in the face of spiritual falsehoods or injustice.

Affiliation: He serves as the spiritual father at the Monastery of the Holy Trinity in the Diocese of Edessa, Greece, while regularly traveling globally to give lectures on modern orthodox life"
