Dear Cathedral Family,
From what we're seeing today, it looks like the storm and inclement weather will come in two waves. The chance of there being ice/freezing rain starting around midnight tonight and most of tomorrow, is pretty high. Then there will be a lull in precipitation
until Saturday evening into Sunday morning, and that will possibly be the more intense wave.
We may not get much snow, but more ice and sleet. It will not get above freezing until Tuesday. Out of an abundance of caution, we think it's best to reschedule the baptisms and chrismations for next Saturday (Jan. 31st), at 1:30pm. Services for Saturday evening
and Sunday morning will also be cancelled this weekend.
The Annual Meeting will also get moved to Sunday, February 1st. We will have Festal Great Vespers and Litya immediately after the Annual Meeting, for the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord.
We urge everyone to be prepared at home in case the power grids are disrupted. We also ask that you check on parishioners in your immediate area over the weekend. Please stay safe and warm!
Another email will follow with the text of the Typica service that can be prayed at home this Sunday morning.
In Christ,
Fr. Theophan
