Newest Announcements  .

Kneeling Vespers of Pentecost

During the 50 days between Pascha and Pentecost, we have not knelt in prayer because Christ is risen.  With the coming of Pentecost on June 4, we will assume the posture of kneeling during prayers at vespers on Sunday evening at 5pm.

St. Raphael Lending Library

Did you know we have a lending library of several hundred books?  It was recently moved out of Father's office and into our fellowship hall so as to be more accessible.  There is not currently a formal system for checking a book out.  If you see a book that you are interested in, take it on the honors system, and return it when you are done.  Thank you to Alli, Austin, Evren and Taras for helping with the move.

Book Group News

This week we are finishing our current book and on June 15 we will begin the weekly discussion of Modern Orthodox Thinkers by Fr. Andrew Louth.  A few copies will be available soon in the church bookstore or you can purchase the print or e-book versions online.  A reading schedule will be distributed shortly.

New!- Parking Spots on Driveway

Parking is always a bit of a challenge at the church, especially during the school year.  Recently, lines were painted on our driveway to remind all those who may park there to maximize the space so that as many as possible can use it.  There are now four parking spaces delineated on our driveway, and, closest to the street, a loading zone for temporary parking only.  If you need to use the driveway to park at church, please pull all the way forward so that others can park behind you.  Thank you!

St. Maria Food Pantry Dedication Service

On Sunday, June 18, following liturgy, we will have a brief dedication prayer and icon-hanging ceremony to dedicate our recently improved Food Pantry space.  St. Maria of Paris will be dedicated as the patroness of our pantry.

Approved Council Meeting Minutes

The approved minutes for the April Parish Council meeting and the Parish Council meeting with Bishop Anthony are attached.

Next Sunday's Gospel Reading
On Sunday June 11  we will hear the Lord's teaching on discipleship and self-denial. https://www.antiochian.org/epistleliturgicday/3485 Matthew 10:32-33; 37-38; 19:27-30

Food for Thought
Blessed are You O Christ Our God! You have revealed the fishermen as most wise, by sending down upon them the Holy Spirit, and hrough them You drew the world into Your net.  O Lover of mankind, Glory to You!

Updated Kitchen Campaign Total!- We Made It!

From Treasurer Becky Morey- WooHoo!  Thanks to your generous donations, pledges, and a matching grant we have officially raised $53,000 for the kitchen capital campaign.  Each and every gift, no matter how small or large, is appreciated and has been set aside in a special fund to be used towards these expenses.

Any excess donations will be earmarked for cooking classes, incidental needs of the kitchen (like crockpots that remain at church!), and any needs of the kitchen that may arise in the future.  If you didn't participate but wish to in the future, you may always earmark your donation.

On behalf of the capital campaign committee and the council, a sincere thanks for your generosity towards the vision of our church - reaching out to serve those in need by feeding Christ's sheep!

Updated Food Pantry Needs
Attached, you will find a list of items that we are in need of in our food pantry.  Monetary donations are also welcome.  We have exceptional buying power through the HACAP food reservoir, so your dollars are able to purchase more this way, than you can at the grocery store.  Also, please check expiration dates before donating food items.  We can't put expired food on our shelves.
