“All Sai Workers should recognise the fact that their participation in Seva Dal activities is to purify their own hearts – whatever be the nature of the work they wish to do.
They must therefore ask themselves first:
What is the need of our participation in Sai work?
What is the gain to the world from this participation or loss to the world if we do not participate in these activities?
Are we doing this work of our own free will or are we participating in it due to some external pressure or compulsion?
Every Seva Dal Worker should think carefully along these lines. From such thinking will emerge a distinctive knowledge – distinctive because it will distinguish the possessor of that knowledge from the rest of the society around him.”
