Hi,

Thank you for the time we managed to find in and around IMESA 2013 in PE.  I reconfirm that my intention is to principally seek additional relevant WDM-based projects especially with leading municipalities like yourselves in the Buffalo City Metro and Chris Hani District.  I also confirm that to elevate such deep-rooted operational efforts to have sustained impact and outcomes, such projects need to be underpinned by Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) Support.  IAM not only helps to highlight further strengthening actions but also paths leading to service delivery excellence. Then performance can be more assured and the potential to leverage in additional resources is distinctly possible.  Visible demonstration also potentially leads to rapid and diverse replication in other municipalities.

Further and in addition to the informal understanding of related ways forward reached with Amatola Water, Amatole District and others (all as copied) on Tuesday 22nd, I confirm that it seems pivotal to give priority to establishing some formal mandate especially together with EC Provincial Departments.  Seeking such Mandates at National levels are even more challenging. DWA EC is seemingly already accessible. Also one additional key EC Department is already seemingly open to consider also being involved.

These three opportunities will lead to me returning to East London as soon as I can get appropriate appointments, especially within EC Provincial Departments.  Also I will use the opportunity to consult all parties (like those included here) in formulating the most relevant EC provincial proposal. I will also be exploring National support for these efforts for EC to potentially be one leading Province.

I trust this indicates a clear way forward for yourselves.  I will be in contact again as soon as dates can be secured for further inter-actions, including more

Individual issues.

Regards,

Nigel Lowe

Hi Siya, & Others

Apologies for not coordinating better or sooner.  We’ll still try to have a chat with Glynn and then hope to speak to you again later.  Are you going to be at IMESA?

Regards,

Nigel
