Varanasi Flood Relief Update
In August, catastrophic flooding struck Varanasi, India, home to Humanity In Unity’s India-based humanitarian aid programs. Relentless floods devastated the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people…and our soul brothers and sisters. The Varanasi slums are hard to describe and even harder to believe when you see them after the destruction.

Watch this short video on the Varanasi Flood Relief Project.

We asked, and you gave.Because of the generous financial support of almost $30,000 given by Sai Maa's global community, the Humanity In Unity India team mobilized and responded to the catastrophic need with immediate disaster relief aid. Thousands of victims suffered even more after flood waters receded because of disease, polluted water, destroyed homes and livelihoods, and fresh despair.

Humanity In Unity’s disaster relief efforts brought us all together -- “Just One” global family of divine love in action –- with no boundaries, unified through the love, compassion, and grace of Sai Maa.

The result. Here is the impact we made together:
  • 6,000 hot, nutritious meals served in a dozen slum neighborhoods to impoverished and displaced victims.
  • 400 families received a two-week supply of food staples including rice, lentils, flour, and potatoes.
  • 1,200 patients received critical medication and care at emergency medical camps.

Because of you, we were there. With your continued financial support, Humanity In Unity will be there to operate our ongoing Indian humanitarian programs including:
  • Just One Hunger Initiative - providing 1,200 hot, nutritious meals each month to Varanasi slum residents
  • Gift of Sight Cataract Program - 100 patients will receive sight-saving cataract surgery between now and March 2014.
We cannot do it without your financial support! Your donation, large or small, makes a world of difference. See for yourself:
  • $10  = 8 nutritious meals for the hungry
  • $25 = 20 nutritious meals for the hungry
  • $65 = gift of sight for one patient
  • $250  = an entire feeding for hundreds
