Auto Backup everyday

This is the best Database app. Is so good that I shifted all my work data in this app. So i require it to be safe.

Thats why I suggest that there should be an auto backup feature which backups all groups at a specific time everyday or any user specied time, zip into a file with date and time as it name, and then upload to google drive or dropbox.

If not possible, any tasker plugin can be created to do this work.

I request the creator of the app to please consider this feature. It would be very helpful.

Automatic daily backups would be useful for a project that is running 24/7, like a multiuser server.
However, Sailforms is still a one user periodic use app.
So the best time to backup the group is whenever you close your project, with any changes you may have made.
Backup is automatic if you put a Backup Group command before any Return Back commands in your primary form. Use Backup with counter, so that a corrupt project doesnt overwrite the last and only good backup - happened to me :=(
You will need to open the form with a custom menu, with the Return and Save/Return options modified to also save the group. If you are opening the form directly, the custom menu is only possible if you open the form as a Shortcut or Favorite form.

Thanks Tim for your very valuable suggestion. I have found a way to autobackup everyday similar to your way.

I used Tasker and some plugins to automate this process of backing up and uploading to drive.

First, I created a sailform shortcut with backup group as its 'launch shortcut command' upon press. Then, i used Tasker to launch the shortcut using Secure Settings plugin. This backed up my sailforms data to local storage at a specific time everyday. Then i used DriveSync to upload that to my cloud storage as a zip file.

Both Sailforms and Tasker are really Great Software.

I'm trying to get the same results as you with a different app similar to Tasker. Can you please give me guidance as to what actions of Sailforms to choose from? Assuming I have a form that does a backup on activation.

Thamks Deepak for your really helpful suggestion.

I'm using the Automate app rather than Tasker, but feel confident it should work on that too ( by using Automate's Start Shortcut block). I've got the backup to run perfectly in this way - just need to add in some "do this daily" logic now, or maybe I'll do the backup on "Device Shutting Down", or both.

Thanks Bruce for replying.

First, U long select any form in your group, then select rename form. There u can find shortcut command option. Set that command as 'Backup Group'.

Now, using your automation app, you can run app shortcut command and select Sailforms, then select group then the form in which you have set the shortcut command.

In tasker, you have to use a separate plugin to start app shortcuts. I use Secure Setting plugin.

In Automate, you can use start shortcut command under apps menu directly. No need of any plugin.

Thanks Mike. I too started using Automate for it does not require additional plugins.

I am using it to start shortcut manually or everyday at 9pm, renaming backup file to todays date, then upload to google drive.
