I remember my first record entry from 2013, what a versatile swiss army-knife for data entry it was! Easy enough to learn without being a database-analyst, feature rich enough to support many use-cases.

Just starting from a form, every field having a column and every table could be linked to another one I could learn and apply at a steady rate,

Wanting to record a lot aspects of live, I quickly realised everything trackable in live could have many apps, but I needed just one: Sailforms. Sleep, food, entertainment, weight, fitness, sports, travelmiles ... just this one app. Happily paid the Pro fee, which was a one time thing though I gladly would have paid 6 times as much every year.

I even accepted it didnt 'move to the cloud' , respecting the complexities involved but also most cloudproviders offer these features only to sell that data with their ad-tech backbones. Ending in profiles and algorithms determing attention in ads.

I kind of wish Sailforms could relive as an open source community driven thing. But I guess to late to salvage anything from the coffin.

So when its sunsetting, I can use it on a device which has the ultimo store install, untill its broken and meanwhile plan for something else.

What do you do?
- Saving the APK and keep on sideloading until the maximum android version for a workable Sailforms vanishes?
- Keeping it on an old device with Android not updating itself anymore?
- Export everything to csv to save the data? (the least to do besides beackup).
- Putting al those csv in a data-model on laptop with Excel or LibreCalc?
- Ask Copilot or another latest AI hype to code a convertor for the backup files to something else? But what?
- Look and search for another app? And start from scratch or hoping it can import basic csv?
- Going cloud native, like with Airtable?

Regards, a Sailforms fan

I still use sailforms, it is still a tool of very good quality and results. I would like to know if you have thought of new options to continue using it.

I still use Sailforms also, and will probably use it till it is completely obsolete!!! It is my daily work tool for multiple tasks!
Every once in a while I download and try other data management apps, but haven't found its equal. Any input from others would be useful.

I too have looked for an alternative, but nothing comes close.
I am still developing applications and finding new ways to make it do
Things. I wish the author would release it to the community.

I have found that you can run ms access 2 under windows 3.1 in magic
Dosbox and it is very rapid. You can create full screen apps. But it's not
The same as native sailforms.

Perfect. Greetings Dear, we never heard from Chris again. I don't know exactly what happened with Sailforms, but this application is not going to be forgotten. It provides too many Services, we have to manage to keep it afloat.

Solutions will come along the way, we would like to hear from Crhis again, the option of releasing the source code to the Sailforms community would be an excellent option.
