I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab A and my developed app lost access to the external SD card. Sailform Pro shows the SD card however the subdirectories displayed are for the internal system only. Any SD card subdirectories are not displayed nor available. My app no longer can locate files on my SD external as a result. This issue occurred immediately after the latest Android update as I was able to access the SD card minutes before the update and lost access immediately after the update. This issue occurs only with Sailform-Sailform Pro and no other Android apps that I use. Has anyone else encountered this issue and are there solutions?

What happens when you try to backup something to the SD Card?
Can you load those forms?

Also, connect via an USB to see if you can see the /sailforms directory.
What version did you update to?

Backing up a file stores the file in a directory on the internal memory. "Loading Back Up Groups" shows the file in the internal memory directory and "Loading Backed up forms" shows nothing. App setting in App Manager is set to External memory.

A USB peek only showed the sailform directory on the internal memory and nothing on the SD card. I did copy of the sailform directory onto the SD card however Pro does not show any files still.

The lastest Android version is 6.0.1 on my Samsung Galaxy A tab SM-T550

Also, I have another SD directory containing PDF files that were formerly accessible prior to the update. These files are no longer visible to Pro after the update.

So it's only seeing the built in internal "External Memory" and not the SDCard External memory.

We will need to do some research to see what's going on.

Thanks for reporting it.

Chris,

It's been over a year and the SD still exists and an issue reported by other users also. Any updates?

There have been some changes to Android in regards to how "External" memory is accessed.

We are now seeing errors when trying to send reports as email attachments and the email not able to access the file.

The Android Permission system has changed and access to "External" memory is one of those permissions.

We are currently looking into bringing this up to date.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Chris,
So what are the latest in regards to access to external SD? I'm a firm believer in external SD cards, I keep my most sensitive documents on the SD...but it seems SF can't access it. I tried attaching a document and the files tree shows a folder called "mount_rw" it appears empty. On the other hand, SF never asked for external card access...

Thanks,
Cosmin
