AUDI HAMILTON ISLAND RACE WEEK 2012

 

It might be eight months until the 28^th edition of Audi Hamilton Island Race Week gets underway, but some yacht owners are so keen to be there they have already entered.

 

A fleet of around 200 cruising and racing yachts, plus superyachts, is expected for this remarkable regatta which will be staged from August 17 to 25.

Mate I’m trying to get the Multihull up there and do the AMOC series across at Laguna Keys if they’re running it this year and I can cancel the jobs in New

So I’ll be a no starter there, but if the boat is going up and you need a couple of the boys are maybe spare to help you out and I’ll cruise up in company with you

I’ve been trying to convince Jeff to come  up with me in the Beetle if I go up to see what ‘real’ sailing’s is like ..... fat, flat and not spilling the drinks (OK so sometimes upside down too)

So I’ll keep in touch and see what’s happening your end

Looks like I have to do a repower job on the girl as I have now done the cones in the port sail drive, so I am going to replace both motors with 40 Yanmahs and sail drives ... so if you know anyone who wants 2 x 30hp Nanni diesels (about 1400hrs) and sail drives (std sail drive leg just 5 hours old since recon) with KIWI carbon props send them my way

Will try to get down to Sydney and catch up with you in the near future so mate

I am looking at bringing the boat back from Pittwater this Saturday. Weather is a SE'er at about 11knots so not too bad even though a bit on the nose.

Looking to leave Newport at 11am which should have us out of Broken Bay at 12 and hopefully back in the harbour by 4sih and on the mooring an hour later.

 

Let me know who is interested.
