to Sail Transport in Puget Sound
Hi all,
Fulvio and I will be giving a quick update. Please join us if in the
hood.
<--original note from newsletter-->
We’re honored to be one of the speakers and talk about sail transport
lessons learned with our friends at Sustainable West Seattle’s
meeting, Tuesday, January 18, from 6:30—9 PM, at the Senior Center of
West Seattle. Openly discussing our first year’s successes and
failures is one step toward our long-term goal of sharing out a well-
vetted “Sail Transport in A Box” model with Sustainable Communities
ALL Over Puget Sound (SCALLOPS) and Transition Town communities. Over
70 percent of SCALLOPS communities have access to water-based
transportation routes!
West Seattle has the potential resource of the city-owned Seacrest
Dock (currently used by the King County Water Taxi service). In true
potlatch style, we’ll bring a small gift of sail repair tools for
their awesome community tool lending library. Please join us.
