White sugar is a deformed form of natural sugar. In its digestion process many elements and vitamins get drained from the body, hampering other activities of the body.
Scientific analysis compares the sugar with liquor. It increases acidity in the body.
Excess use of sugar results in tooth decay. It is considered the root cause of arthritis. Its excessive use causes liver disease. The main cause of diabetes is also excessive use of White Sugar and its products.
Excess use of it increases the possibility of cancer. It increases cholesterol in blood. It is main cause of stomach trouble. It causes sinus problems
Mental disease in children are due to excess use of white sugar and its product. Its excess use results in neurological weakness, menstrual pain and luecorrhoea.
To protect health, it will be good if white sugar is given up altogether. Natural sugar found in fruits and vegetables is beneficial to health as it is easily digestible. Dates, black raisins, honey and jaggery can replace sugar.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba says
"To this day, no
doctor has come up with a solution for the problem of cancer. The cause of all
this cancer is something worth knowing. Now, some might say that cancer is a
direct result of smoking cigarettes and others might say that air pollution is
the cause. These factors might be contributing in a small way, but they are not
the primary cause of cancer. The main cause of cancer is white sugar. The
reason for this is that in the refining of sugar, a lot of chemicals are added.
And one of these processing chemicals is bone char, which, when you eat the
sugar, may get lodged in any part of the body and create problems. "In
what form was sugar eaten in the good old times? Not in this artificial, synthetic
one, but as wholesome jaggery [raw, unrefined
sugar]. Today you find the artificial creeping into everything that you eat
all merely for the sake of money."
Note that brown sugar, Which is often touted as an alternative to refined sugar, is often simply white sugar which has been re-processed with molasses or other sugar by-products to make it look brown again
