Dear Friends,
Hare Krishna!
GovardhanPuja / Annukuta Festival
GovardhanPuja - Saturday November 12
Please join us for the wonderful festival where we recreate with sweets Govardhana hill (the sacred hill located in Vrndavana, U.P. India which was lifted by the little finger of Lord Krishna five thousand years ago).
It is said in the scriptures that one who walks around this hill of sweets gets the same benefit of doing parikrama (walking pilgrimage) of the actual hill. This festival is tremendous fun and highly recommended.
We invite everyone to prepare something for making the hill. (Please ensure standard rules for preparing Deity offerings, No onion and garlic.) If you have any questions, please contact Vanamali Gopal Das at412-725-3442.
Venue: 1444 Hillsdale Ave, Dormont, PA 15216
Evening program begins at 5:30 pm 5:30-6 pm Bhajans 6-700 pm Story telling about Govardhan, and around the places 7:00 - 7:30 pm Offering and worship of Hill of Prasad (Annukuta) and circumambulation (pradikshana) followed by distribution of Hill Prasad with feast.
