Onsite or Remote? Candidate must be CURRENT WI resident. NO RELOCATION ALLOWED. Hybrid, on a weekly basis--DNR is currently 60% remote and 40% in the office.  Madison, WI.  Hybrid requirement is weekly not monthly. The contractor must start on site for a five-day orientation/onboarding. Work cannot be conducted outside the United States.

 

Project details:

Advanced level Project Manager II to work as a Project Manager for the DNR IT Project and Portfolio Management Section providing services to support strategic agency-wide DNR IT projects. Ideal for an advanced project manager who can also excel in the role of a business analyst. Position requires an individual who is highly analytical and self-motivated. Individual should be a team player with strong collaboration skills who is flexible and adaptable to change.

 

Additional details:

- Work hours are during business hours between 8:00am – 5:00pm.

- Must have reliable internet provided at own expense for working remotely.

- State holidays are not paid unless part of work agreement. No overtime and no weekend differential.

- At the end of the contract, the equipment must be returned.  If it cannot be dropped off in person or if DNR Equipment is damaged during the contract, replacement and shipping is done at supplier’s expense.

DNR Position Description:

The Department of Natural Resources Information Technology (DNR IT) executive program is seeking applicants for a Project Manager position to support the Division of Environmental Management, Bureau of Remediation and Redevelopment.

 

This work requires 40 hours/week work for a candidate with advanced skillsets and experience.

 

The most qualified candidate will have - Direct experience as a business analyst collaborating with IT professionals to develop technical specifications and requirements for custom applications.

• Skilled in managing IT complex projects, leading teams, supporting stakeholders, and implementing IT infrastructure.

• Proficiency in business analysis methodologies, including investigative techniques, workflows, use cases, and user stories.

• Expertise in data analysis tools like SQL, Excel, data visualization, and statistical analysis software.

• Ability to collaborate with technical experts, end users and other stakeholders to gather information about functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, and output requirements.

• Ability to use analytical and investigative skills to accurately document the business needs through requirements gathering.

• Experience with requirements management tools such as Confluence or DevOps.

• Proficient in project management methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall.

• Ability to create technical specifications, identify project roles, track resources, and budgets, and monitor project progress.

• Strong communication skills for reporting, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing demands, and facilitate risk management.
