SAI GRAMAM
Saigramam: Situated on a 25-acre
campus, in the Thonnakkal panchayat, near Attingal,
Trivandrum and launched by his Excellency R.L. Bhatia, the Governor of
Kerala on 1st Nov
2004, the concept of Saigramam
projects the ideals for which India
has stood for centuries together. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba stands for the
equality and truth for all religions and the universal brotherhood of man, and
the great objective epitomized by the ancient prayer Lokha Samastha Sukhino
Bhavanthu. The complex has been envisioned as a Village that functions as a self
sufficient community. The setting is scenic and calm – at the foothills of the
PandavanMala. The Village is a place where people of all ages and backgrounds
live in harmony and togetherness. To this end, there are homes for the elderly a
school, an orphanage, a 24-hour cafeteria, a dairy, and an artists' complex.
Work is also progressing at the complex to start a Vedic university and
agricultural research center.
The complex is self
sufficient in the areas of energy and water, and is reaching full self
sufficiency in other areas as well. It is also the venue of several projects of
the Trust.
SAYOOJYAM
This project looks after
elderly women. Most of them have been forsaken by their families and have
nowhere to go. They are housed in cottages at Saigramam and have their physical
and medical needs met promptly. They are also participating in various
activities according to their ability. Sayoojyam units are also functioning at
Pathanamthitta and Kottayam districts.
SRI SATHYA SAI VIDHYA MANDIR
Sri Satya Sai Vidya Mandir
is a free school that functions on the premises for children deprived of Right
To Education because of poverty, child labor, economic & social problems,
etc. It was inaugurated by Shri T.K.A Nair, Principal Secretary to Prime
Ministeron 23rd March 2008. The system that this learning center follows is
based on the old Gurukulam model. At present, the school handles classes1 to 5,
with nearly 150 students coming in from Saigramam from the neighboring areas.
The school provides facilities like 1:7 teacher student ratio, free food,
clothes, study materials, uniform and
transportation.
SAKETHAM
Under this project,
elderly men who have no family support or have been forsaken by their families
are housed medical and all other needs taken care here. Other than SaiGramam a
unit of Saketham is also functioning at
pathanamthitta
SAI NARAYANAALAYAM
There is a food canteen
functioning inside SiaGramam with the motto \"Annam Brahma\", that is open
throughout the day, providing free, wholesome food for every one in the campus.
Who ever comes to Saigramam, as well as people coming from neighboring areas,
laborers etc partake of the food daily at Sai
Naranalayam.
SANTHWANAM
This project focuses on
mentally challenged children. They are accommodated and trained with
understanding, love and patience. Two wardens are there to look after 12
inmates. Some of them are actively participating in the works in
SaiGramam.
SAI NIKETHAN
Sai Nikethan a center for
orphaned and destitute children functions in SaiGramam.Only boys are admitted
here, boys who lost their parents, neglected and thrown to the streets etc. are
given preference in the orphanage.They are trained with kalari payattu-martial
arts of kerala, music- vocal and instrumental, bhajans etc at SaiGramam.They are
learning at various schools in the city.The children are housed in cottages at
Saigramam, each with a house-mentor. There are other centers of the Sai Niketan
project at , Kollam, Ernakulam and Kannur
districts.
SAKSHATHKARAM
This is a unique project – the very
first of its kind undertaken in India.
The Trust, with the City Corporation, took on the task of making the city of
Thiruvananthapuram beggar-free. This rehabilitation project for beggars was
inaugurated on 15th June,
2006 by P.K. Sreemathy, Hon'ble
Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Govt. of Kerala. The project is enjoying
great success in the city corporation limits. The beggars who are taken in are
rehabilitated and then transported back to their place of
origin.
THAMASOMA JYOTHIRGAMAYA
THAMASOMA JYOTHIRGAMAYA - This
project will light up the dark lives of the visually challenged. The then
Hon'ble Speaker, Kerala Assembly, Shri. Therambil Ramakrishnan inaugurated the
project on 2nd November
2005. Every year special Eye Camps
are conducted and spectacles distributed free of cost. Sponsoring the Blind is
also part of the project
SAYAHNAM
Sayahnam - is a day-care centre that
takes care of elderly people suffering from Alzheimer\'s Disease. The project is
operated from Nalanchira, Trivandrum. The Sri Chitra Thirunal Medical Centre and Alzheimer\'s
and Related Disorders Society of India (ARDIS) also collaborate with the
functioning of this centre.
SAI KARUNYA
This is a project that
provides support for aiding the education of poor students by providing
financial support, counseling and guidance. It aims to help poor and competent
students to continue their academic
interests.
SAPHALAYAM
SAPHALAYAM – is a project
that is currently functioning in the Pathanamthitta-Konni region. It provides
job-oriented training and skills to youth. It also undertakes to provide aid to
tribal and economically backward people to enable them to obtain driving
licenses free of cost.
SAI ABHAYA HASTHA
Provides aid and
assistance to physically challenged people who are seeking genuine employment.
The Trust initiated this project with the help of Hindustan Lever Ltd by
providing coffee vending Machine. The main aim of this project is to eradicate
unemployment
SAI DARSHAN
Under this project a program -
"Sathyam, Sivam, Sundaram" is telecast every Friday at 5.30 PM and
Sunday at 7.30
AM on the Asianet News Channel.
The key purpose of the project is to acquaint viewers with the noble teachings
of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It had completed more than 500 episodes. This is the
only telecast on Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Malayalam channel.AS pre various surveys
the viewers to this programme is increasing.
SAI SERVICE CELL
Sri Sathya Sai Free
Service Cell works to provide help, guidance and counselling for people from
various walks of life - Trivandrum, Kollam, Kottayam, Trichur, Calicut,
Malappuram, Iduki, Kasargod, Palakkad. This Cell helps people to get information
regarding their pension papers, provident fund etc, saving them unnecessary
travel and effort. It also helps people by giving them proper advice in
appropriate cases.
SAI SAMANVAYA
A special project that
focuses on students. Samanvaya helps them to understand and tackle issues while
they are going through key development phases. Help with exam stress, peer
pressure, developing self confidence, and other overall personality development
are the focus of this project.
NAVAJEEVANAM
The focus of Navajeevanam is to
ensure that financially backward kidney patients to access dialysis depending on
their need. Since most of the patients undergoing the dialysis are the bread
winners of their respective families, the project also takes care of the welfare
of the families by ensuring that the education of the children and the needs of
the elderly in the family are met. Like all of our other activities, Navajeevan
too is carried out solely on the strength of donations from people who
contribute monetarily to sustain our efforts. By 2012, Navajeevan had completed
a staggering 1,00,000 completely free dialysis programs. It is our hope that we
will be able to have a Dialysis
Center
in every district of Kerala. The Trust has been running 12 dialysis centres in
Ten districts - one each in thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Palakkad, Kannur,
Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Alapuzha and Kasargod and three in Ernakulam. By 2006,
we understood that there was a great increase in the number of kidney patients
in Kerala, many of whom were not able to afford the dialysis that gives them
their only chance at a normal life. The Trust started a free dialysis campaign
called Navajeevan (New Life). This venture is the only one of its kind in the
whole of India.
SAI FREE AMBULANCE SERVICE
Saigramam has an ambulance
ready to go on call at all times of the day and night. This is a free service
that can be availed of by those who cannot afford to hire an ambulance service
for any of their emergencies.
TEMPLE COMPLEX
Temples of Maha Ganapathy,Lord Siva
and Parvathy and lord Murga are there in the temple complex in SaiGramam. The
temple complex is near Shirdi Sai Mandir in the Lendi
Garden
at SaiGramam.the peculiarity of these temples are that, there is no offerings or
offering boxes.
SATHYA SAI FREE MEDICAL CLINIC
A free medical clinic is working in
SaiGramam.Homoeopathic as well as allopathic treatments are offered for the
benifit of villagers. A cardiology clinic (twice a week) and pediatric clinic
are functioning with the co-operation of KIMS
Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. Consultation and free distribution of
medicines are carried out here.
SHIRDI SAI MANDIR
Shirdi Sai Mandir is the biggest
Temple
in south India
and is known as Dakshina Shiridi Sansthan. The Idol carved in white single
marble stone weighing 2000 Kgms was installed by the priest from Shirdi on
27th September
2007.
SAI DEEP MANDAPAM
Sai deep Mandapam is in
front of Shirdi Sai Mandir. It is a granite floored open hall. Public
gatherings, small camps and inaugural functions , prayers and bhajans are
conducted here.
SAI GANESH HALL
SaiGanesh Hall is the
biggest hall in kerala with an area of 18000sq. feet .This hall was inaugurated
by Shri A.K.Antony Hon.Union Minister for Defense on 2nd November 2009.This is
built in such a way that no pillars are there to bar the vision of spectators.
All important functions in Saigramam are conducted in this hall .The stage of
the hall have the capacity to accommodate 250 person. Major events like mass
marriage, music festivals, and large public gatherings are conducted in this
hall. Poor people are allowed to make use of this hall free of cost for
marriages
SREE BUDDHA TEMPLE
Sree Buddha
Temple:
The Sree
Buddha Temple
in SaiGramam was inaugurated by His Holiness Karmapa Lama. The temple is
constructed in Tibetan model, which is found more beautiful with the green
carpet grass around.
LOTUS POND
One of the major
attractions in the SaiGramam campus is the beautiful Lotus pond. Gooses and
ducks swim freely here.There is small islands constructed in the pond for the
birds to rest. Water from a nearby small pond flows to the lotus pond, keeps it
always fresh. The wooden bridge across the stream and the bamboo grove on shore
attracts all eyes.
SAI GAYATHRI MANDAPAM
Sai Gayathri Mandapam is a
small hall at saigramam. simple public gatherings, Bajans and classes conducted
here. It is the first hall constructed in
SaiGramam
SAI POTTERY CENTRE
SAI POTTERY CENTRE:
Earthernware and earthen artefacts were made in this centre. It is an
interesting place for the visitors at SaiGramam. the visitors can purchase the
products from the pottery centre from the Sai Book Stall &
Store
LIBRARY & COMPUTER LAB
This is the library for
the children in SaiGramam and neighbourhood village.it also provides free
computer training for the children from the age of
four.
STORE ROOM
It is the storage place of
all the stock from SAiGramam, donnated clothes and Goods.Everything sorted here
and send to particular units like cloth bank, library, saketham,
santhwanam,sayoojyam, sainikethan etc
SACRED GROVE & POND
There is a Sacred Grove
& Pond on the foothills of SaiGramam. Water from this pond flows in a stream
to the beautiful lotus pond in front of the guest house. the flow of the stream
makes the land more picturesque.
BIO GAS PLANT
Saigramam is using Biogas
as the fuel for the canteen from 2005 i.e. from the time it starts
functioning.It is just one among the programmes in our Energy conservation
mission at SaiGramam. Cow dung from Gokulam and the kitchen waste makes the
plant highly fuel efficient.
STAFF QUARTERS
The staff, staying at
SaiGramam is staying here. The staff persons in kitchen, temple etc are staying
in these quarters. It is placed behind Sai
Narayanalayam
ART VILLAGE
The Art
Village
has come up in Sai Gramam to help portraits and review those art forms which are
degenerating. In the Art
Village
the artist can stay, practice and do their painting works at free of cost. Every
service is absolutely free at SaiGramam, especially for the poor artists. Art
Village covers an area of 4,500 sq feet.
SATHYA SAI GOKULAM
Sathya Sai Gokulam is the
Diary unit in SaiGramam. Gokulam maintains around 40 cows and calves. It
generates adequate milk for saigramam.it is always kept clean and use modern
instruments to yield milk. The farm is supervised by an expirenced vetinery
doctor.
GUEST HOUSE FLAT
SaiGramam Guest House
Flat: the guest house flat mainly focused for the retired and old aged persons.
They can purchase a flat in saigramam for the life time @ 9 lakhs (450 sq feet-

LENDI GARDEN
Lendi Garden
is a 4500 sq feet garden in SaiGramam. green carpeted with grass and different
plant and trees aroud. There is a fountain and some sculptures in this garden.
The temple complex, shiridi sai mandir and saideep mandapam were situated in
this garden.
TAMARIND TREE
There is a Tamrind tree at
the top of the hill in SaiGramam. It resemble the \"Kalpavriksham\" on the
hillock at Prashanthi Nilayam in
Puttaparthy.
RAIN WATER TREATMENT PLANT
There is a rain water
harvesting & treatment plant at SaiGramam. It have the capacity of 2 Lakhs
liter. The plant start with the aim to use \"Rain Water for
Drinking\"
BAMBOO CRAFT TRAINING CENTRE
A free Bamboo craft
training centre is functioning at SaiGramam. It provides training for the public
as well as the interested childern from SaiNikethan.A well experienced trainer
is staying at SaiGramam to provide training in Bamboo
craft.
SAI BOOK STALL & STORE
Sai Book Stall &
Store: from the book stall & store one can purchase all the books, key
chains, stickers, lockets, rings etc from Puttaparthy. Earthenware and earthen
artifacts from pottery unit, bamboo craft publications by the trust etc were
also available in this centre
DHWARAKAMAI
Dhwarakamai (Dhuni) is the
sacred fire at SaiGramam, it is near Shirdi Sai Mandir. Only the firewood from
jack tree will use to fire Dhuni.
SAI MEDICINAL PLANT NURSERY
Sai Medicinal plant
Nursery is a 15,000 sq.feet nursery at SaiGramam.The buds from this nursery will
given to the neighbourhood people and
visitors
COMPUTER & TAILORING TRAINING CENTRE
A free computer &
tailoring centre is functioning at SaiGramam. this service is also extended
outside SaiGramam.The programmes aimed to empower women through economic
productivity.
HANDICRAFT TRAINING CENTRE
A handicraft training
centre is functioning in SaiGramam. Pottery, bamboo craft, stitching etc will be
trained here.
CLOTH BANK
Cloth Bank: Through cloth
bank new or undamaged used cloths are distributed to the poor people around
SaiGramam. Thousands of families were already benefited from this
project
SAI CLINICAL LABORATORY
Sai Clinical Labotatory:
This is the free clinical Laboratory for the people around SaiGramam. This
clinic benefits hundreds of poor; they get free check-ups
here.
PALLIATIVE CARE UNIT
A palliative care unit is
functioning at SaiGramam. Through this unit service of the doctor, medicines and
follow-up care are given to the poor patients at their home around
SaiGramam..
LOK ADALATH
Lok Adalath (SaiGramam) is
the free legal aid centre at SaiGramam. The disputes other than criminal cases
will be dealt here.
SAI CARE HOME
Sai Care Home is the
rehabilitation centre for managable mentally ill patients at Venjaramood,
Thiruvananthapuram. This is a conjoint project by Sri Sthya Sai Orphanage Trist-
Kerala, District Panchayat Thiruvanantahpuram, Social welfare Department and
Mental Health Centre -Peroorkada.The managable patients from the mental health
centre are addmitted here , they are given proper rehabilitation training and
sent back to their family.
SAPHALYAM
Saphalyam is the
rehabilitation centre for physically handicapped person. The center is
functioning at Kottamam near Neyyattinkara, Thiruvananthapuram. This is a
conjoint project of Sri Sathya Sai orphanage Trust-Kerala,District panchayat
thiruvananthapuram and Kerala state Handicapped persons
welfare corporation.This is a long stay home for the poor handicapped
persons
GOKULAM GUEST HOUSE
Gokulam Guest House: The
cottage guest house mainly focused for the retired and old age people. They can
purchase a Cottage in saigramam for the life time @ 25 lakhs (1000 sq feet- 2Bed
room +Living space+ Bath & Toilet).Food and medical care from the clinics
will be free for their life time at SaiGramam

SAIGRAMAM BALABHAVAN
SaiGramam Balabhavan: This is a unit
of National Bala Bhavan sanctioned by Govt. of India.
It was inaugurated by Shri A.K. Antony, Hon.Union Minister for defense on
2nd November
2009. It had conducted various
programmes at SaiGramam and South Zonal Camp at SaiGramam in
2001.
