HiI recently have decided to try out Batocera after watching some heavily inspiring videos from mr. ETA Prime.

I also love how the OS just loads and so far everything has been just plug and play, with the exception of some minor scraping issues I've experienced.

My question is - I have some other systems like Famicom and Super Famicom as well as some Megadrive Japan and some general hacks that I'd like to implement if possible. Are the above systems supported and is there a way to add them? I do not see folders in the ROMS folder for them, and when I made my own they do not show up in the theme. If this is possible, is there a tutorial anywhere that I could take a look at?

I'm running the Computer - 64 bit build if that matters.

omn1slash yes offcoarse they are just modified nes, snes, mega drive games, just create a new folder on roms folder for example nes hacks, folder need to call like NESH . and on es_systems.cfg you need to duplicate the nes emulator lines and change the roms folder from nes to nesh .

@GameCast awesome! Can do that... will the default theme pick up the new systems? or do I have to make edits in the theme as well? Also is there any cool themes you recommend that support all the consoles?

nadenislamarre Technically I would prefer to change the "Megadrive" to Sega Genesis icon (I live in the US and thats what we know it as)... and preferred to have another icon with the Megadrive logo for "Sega Megadrive Japan" if its possible. Is this the best way to handle this?

GameCast I do really like that theme. I'll give that a try. I just want something that supports virtually every system. I don't see an area in the shared folders to put the themes in, so I assume i'd have to WinSCP (SSH) in and find the directory? I'm a bit familiar with how RetroPie works and this so far has been pretty close.

GameCast Yes, the PC X64 booting from a thumb drive. the roms are on an external hard drive formatted in EXT4 (linux) and in their normal locations (/roms) there. I looked through all of the folders and I didnt see a place to put themes - just music, the roms, cheats, etc. I've tried pushing F1 to look through file manager but it doesn't seem to show that folder either. Should I be seeing it?

GameCast this would be 5.21. I downloaded it off the main batocera page on Sunday. Is there a way that I'm missing to get this newer version 5.22? I tried to go to "update" but it said none available.

Crazy_Bessie yes you can, just creade roms folder snesh or mastersystemh, megadrive or genegish and that for every hack roms systems, after open es_systems.cfg and duplicate the lines from every emulators and config the paths changing the roms folder from snes to snesh . wen you boot batocera system will detect romshacks systems separetly . now you just need to create the themes for every hacks systems, some themes already have hack systems created .

Crazy_Bessie find on share folder, if you wont find ,

download here this es_systems.cfg and replace on batocera/system/emulationstation .

_systems.cfg/file

this es_systems.cfg already have hacks systems configured .

Anyone who uses a computer will likely have to use folders on a daily basis. They're meant to keep the many files we store on our systems organized, but they can only accomplish that task if they're used properly.

Select the folder you want to move and click Properties on the toolbar. Then, head to the Location tab and click Move to set a new home for your files, and click OK to make sure your changes have been saved.

This simple and straightforward way of moving a folder from one location to another is only available for standard folders within your user folder. Moving around system folders flippantly can cause serious disruptions on your computer. Consider what you're doing before you rearrange things too much, and always keep a handle on what you've put where.

A good grasp of shortcuts will make any task go a little quicker. That's particularly true when you're working with folders. Commit these combinations to memory, and you'll find that they shave a few seconds off your efforts on a regular basis.

Are there folders you use all the time? You can set up a keyboard shortcut purely to open it up. First, find the folder, right-click it, and select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut). Next, find that shortcut on your Desktop.

Right-click the shortcut, select Properties, and head to the Shortcut tab on the resulting window. Click on the field titled Shortcut key, and you can choose whatever combination of keys you'd like to have in place to immediately open up the folder at a second's notice.

Launch File Explorer and head to My PC. There, select the Search tab and, from the Size drop-down menu, select Empty. Windows will display a list of all empty folders on your computer.

By default, this option is set to Picture, which can slow things up if your Download folder is actually filled with different types of files. Windows will sometimes change this option back automatically, so if things slow down again, you might need to repeat the procedure.

Right-clicking a folder gives you access to a series of commands to open, share, or access the folder's properties. Did you know that holding Shift while you right-click brings up some more advanced commands?

UndoClose is a portable program, that runs directly from your desktop or a USB stick. However, it does require the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, so make sure that you have that installed before trying to use it.

You'll be presented with a folder filled with links to a bevy of Control Panel functionality and more, all assembled in one easy place. If you're the sort of person who's often asked for help fixing other people's systems, you'll definitely want to be able to create a "God Mode" folder to speed up the process.

Sometimes I want to search through the bookmarks in a specific folder. Unfortunately the Google Chrome team hasn't come up with anything to help with this yet. Currently, bookmarks search searches through all folders and subfolders.

This isn't necessarily a hack, but came up when I googled search folders for bookmarks or something like that. An extension exists called Atomic Bookmarks which is a bookmarks menu that allows you to search through folders. It is kind of old and isn't a hack, but its a bit easier to execute than a hack too. It also still searches through subfolders, but at least it doesn't search in folders above the current one.

You are more than welcome to, @Ezzerharden. I will probably be adding some stuff to it in coming weeks as I sort through more recent folders and move stuff into here. So you may want to make that book expandable!

@Ezzerharden

The folder is fine, now that I removed two files Priest powers and Schools of Magic that were copy pasted unchanged from Core 1E for my players to have handy in a separated format from each other.

I spent a lot of time configuring Neomutt to my liking, and to this end I happened to read a lot of blog posts,1 the online documentation and the man pages, dotfiles available on Github, etc. Neomutt is great, but its configuration is harder than it seems because there are tons of options that you need to define carefully. Of course, default options are quite good, but you know when you start tinkering your setup… My previous post explained how I ended up setting my default config. Here are a few additional tricks that I learned along the way.

If you write a lot of macros, sometimes it is worth considering folder-hook or variation thereof. You often just have to replace your macro statement with a push command to let Mutt press all the keys for you.

The file SafeB9SInstaller.bin is missing or misplaced. Download the latest release of SafeB9SInstaller, extract it, and place SafeB9SInstaller.bin on the root of your SD card. Do not add the .bin extension if you do not already see it.

You are missing boot9strap.firm and boot9strap.firm.sha from the boot9strap folder, or the boot9strap folder is misnamed. Download the latest release of boot9strap, and place boot9strap.firm and boot9strap.firm.sha in the boot9strap folder.

You have the wrong Soundhax file for your console and region, or your console is incompatible with Soundhax. In the latter case, your course of action will determine on what version your 3DS is currently on. Join Nintendo Homebrew on Discord for assistance.

Back up your data and reformat your SD card as FAT32 with the recommended tool depending on your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux). MiniTool Partition Wizard and the HP formatting tool (HPUSBDisk) are known to cause issues with 3DS SD cards.

Now, put your SD card into your 3DS and turn it on. If your data is still there, you deleted the right folder and have now determined your correct ID1. If everything has disappeared, go back into the backup folder that you made earlier and try the other folder.

The file arm11code.bin is missing or misplaced. Download the latest release of universal-otherapp, place otherapp.bin on the root of your SD card and rename it to arm11code.bin. Do not add the .bin extension if you do not already see it.

There may be an issue with your arm11code.bin file. Download the latest release of universal-otherapp, place otherapp.bin on the root of your SD card and rename it to arm11code.bin. Do not add the .bin extension if you do not already see it.
