Dear Colleagues,

UNFPA is very pleased to announce a regional two-day meeting on the
intersections of GBV and HIV programming in humanitarian settings in
East, Central, and Southern Africa, to be held in Nairobi, Kenya, June
5-6, 2008. Partners working in the areas of GBV and/or HIV in the
following countries are encouraged to attend: Burundi, CAR, Chad,
DRC, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Rwanda,
Uganda, Sudan and Somalia. We kindly request that you forward this e-
mail to all of your relevant country offices to solicit their
involvement.

The focus of the meeting will be on reviewing a draft strategic
framework for addressing the intersections of GBV and HIV in
humanitarian settings, as well as discussion of best practices in the
region and strategies for improving coordination of GBV and HIV
programming efforts. We are looking forward to a fruitful
exchange! The deadline for submission of applications is May 20,
2008; however, space is limited so interested individuals/agencies are
encouraged to apply early. Applicants will be notified of their
acceptance by May 21, 2008.
