I hope that those who had the boards did well. I am sure everyone
heard Dr. Kothari's board review "rantings" during the exam, I know I
did!
Anyways, here are a few updates.
1. I have been in touc with The South Asian Health Foundation
(SAHF.org.uk) which is a similar organization in UK. They have the
same focus, except the research component is left to individual
contributors. I hope to establish a communications link with them so
that if we wanted to collaborate with their members in the future, it
would be easier.
2. I have also contacted The South Asian Health Project, a community
based organization in NY and NJ who may be interested in collaborating
on certain projects. They are a community based organization with
focus on providing information and education to the community. They
may help us with project that require community education etc.
3. In terms of research activities, current active projects are (not
necessarily started within SAHRI):
Osteoporosis - Dr. Kothari Et al.
IBD - Dr. Das, Palance, Hidalgo @ RWJMS
Diabetes - Dr. Amorosa w/ (I think) Aras, Angel Li
I would again encourage EVERYONE to start thinking and asking
questions. If you are the type of person who wants someone to tell
them what to do, email me and I will try to find something that might
be of an interest to you.
4. Please go to (academia.wikicities.com/wiki/SAHRI), click on
"Intelligent Resources Database" and add your information.
5. For those who are interested in participating, try to learn wiki
(it's easy).
6. For those who are not interested and want to unsubscribe, let me
know!
