I have found a programmer who will help us design a database so that we
can work together over the web in review of the articles.
What I need is from those who have done review of literature in the
past(or not), to think about their effort and tell me what the database
needs.
To give you a better idea:
- one or two us will populate (and update weekly) the database by
downloading citations from MEDLINE (it will be automatically downloaded
and updated). Once we do that, it will look like just a citation from
MEDLINE.
- The next step is actually going through the article citations of your
interest and populate other fields (fields 9 and onwards in the table
below) based on your review. You can also decide an article is not
important and click on the "reviewed but not useful" checkbox. you can
also add your thoughts (reviewers comment). You may also populate
"additional keywords."
- each article of importance will be reviewed by two reviewers.
What I want you to do is: take a look at the database fields currently
in my table and tell me what else it needs. Items 1 thru 8 will be
filled from MEDLINE, after 9th field, I need your help. Please tell me
all that is important Think of what information would you want to
know: for example: I think "study type" would be nice to have: So, what
are the various study types? RCT, case report, case-controlled, review
etc.
Please respond to this by monday so that I can talk to the database
