Hello everyone! Hopefully you already know that
the May Day March for Immigrant Rights is coming up this Fri, 3:30 pm. There will be an api contingent, but we hope you will march with Sahngnoksoo's pungmul drummers, who will be gathering at Judkins Park (exact location to be announced soon). It is so important for us to have a strong presence, so please come out.
We also need a few people to carry our banner and help out with drumming (no experience required!)We do have a "Sahngnoksoo for Immigrant Rights" banner and need a couple people to volunteer to hold it. (and uh, anyone know wher that banner is?)
We would really really love to have a couple additional puk players. Puk is the barrel drum (not the hourglass shaped drum) used in pungmul. Puk is soooooooo easy to play. Trust me, you'll have it down in like half an hour at most. Seriously, drumming at marches is so much more fun that just standing/walking around chanting - you will love it! So please hit me up if you can play puk on Fri.
and!... Sun May 3, 2pm - Sahngnoksoo will be performing at the API Cultural Festival at the Seattle Center. We could definitely use a couple extra puk players for that - again, it's easy! Or, just come out and support!
Hope to see y'all on Fri or Sun!
Mijo
