Happy Hour in the Park

Hi, Everyone!

We all talked about getting a "happy hour" in the park going at the start of the summer.

And although "summer" is coming to an end, I feel like the Indian Summer is just beginning, so I'd like to try to revive the idea for the rest of the good weather we have coming.

Would anyone be interested in starting this after Labor Day, on Friday, September 11? Say 4-6pm.

I'm thinking that "Jenn's Valley" (just south of the Picnic House) would be a great locale, since it is a bit closer for the North/Center Slope folks.

I'd even be into having it extend into a early picnic dinner for the kids, although I know that doesn't work for everyone. But, we could definitely bring in some Kleen Kanteens of wine or other "mommy juice," right? And, snacks, of course!

What do you all think?

Sounds like a great idea!  We can't make it 9/11 (Grandparents are here for H&E's bday on 9/10). I think we could have a good two months for this (hot chocolate & Baileys???).

On another note, I want to add a couple fellow Fall moms to the list.  Some of you might know my friend Harli, whose son Felix is a September baby. And my friend Jenn Rubinetti, who is a fellow Octo mom. Her daughter is Lucia. She's due with #2 next week and will be home on maternity leave, so I thought she would be interested in connecting with our group.  Some of you probably met her at past Fall Babies parties.

Just thought I would pass it by the group first.

Does everyone know where "Jenn's Valley" is?

It is just South of the Picnic House, but you have to go around a little grove of trees to enter (if coming from the North).

Should we exchange mobile #'s so those who might have trouble finding the spot, can get in touch?

I won't be there on the early side, but maybe someone else can volunteer this time to be the contact to help anyone trying to find it.

Tania and I were the only ones who showed up! It's not a good spot to meet up, we decided. First of all, there were swarms of gnat-like bugs that were flying around in clouds all over the park, it was disgusting! I'm assuming that won't last, hopefully it doesn't because it was seriously gross. The other thing is that there was a big group of high school kids getting stoned up on the hill right next to the valley. And also, just the trek in the park to get to that spot is kinda a pain. We were thinking maybe next time meeting near the road near the baseball fields is a better spot. 

Hope the next one more people show up! We ended up going to Harmony.

We can reduce the cost from $400 per house to $149 if we can gather four more participants. Currently, two households are already on board, so we just need two more to qualify for the discounted rate.
