Hi all,
          Interestingly, I have just received my renewal notice for membership of the New Zealand Hangliding and Paragliding Association.

This year it will cost me $130.00 --- One third of the new HGFA fee. They have over 4500 pilots.
I will also pay a $24.00 levy for international postage of the "Airborne" magazine.
I then pay and additional $20 for my Canterbury Club membership. (Collected by the NZHGPA and distributed to the Canterbury club.)

Total = $154.00

I put a post up on the HGFA forum about 1.5 years ago regarding the alignment of club memberships and HGFA membership so
club fees could also be collected by the HGFA - as is done in NZ. I also emailed the suggestion to Chris Fogg

Chris Fogg then wrote an article in Soaring based on my submission to him. He credited my input as follows "Pilot 19082"....

Strangely enough, nothing ever happened.....

just as well they didn't collect the club fees - otherwise they would
have been redefined
