Dear Madam/ Sir, 

Pakistan has a long and a rich history of internal displacements and cross border refugees, The devastating floods in 2010, military operations in different areas and earthquake in 2005 led to displacement of  millions of people from their home land.

The Guiding Principles of UN provide protection against arbitrary displacement, offer a basis for protection and assistance during displacement, and set forth guarantees for safe return, resettlement and reintegration.

Also, it is stated that the planning and implementation of the humanitarian response will be based on two pillars, one of which is “Gender – ensuring that gender issues are considered in planning and implementation of all activities”.

Aurat Foundation (AF) and many other civil society organizations remain involved in relief activities to provide facilitation to the affectees.

Aurat Foundation has conducted a research study on the “Internally Displaced Persons with Special Focus on Women.” to share the initial findings and major issues of above mentioned study, Aurat Foundation is organizing a consultation. We are pleased to invite you / your orgnisation’s concern person for this consultation.
