International TableTop Day: March 30

Hey, SAGNites!  This Saturday (March 30) is International TableTop Day.  Devised by the game-lovers over at Geek and Sundry (through its Wil Wheaton hosted YouTube based board game show TableTop), it's a day for folks to go out to their friendly, local game store and play some games.

How could SAGN not participate?  Our amazing friends and sponsors over at Tribe Comics and Games (www.tribecag.com, 2919 Manchaca Suite 102, 512-693-4300) will be running TableTop day all day on Saturday from 10 AM to 8 PM.  Here's what's going on:

--Tribe will be setting up tables to play games in the store.  We'll have demos of games featured on TableTop, as well as games for which promos are available.

--Did I say promos?  Yes.  We have a very limited number of promo items available to give out.  Off the top of my head, I remember promos for 7 Wonders, 3 different Fluxx games, several Mayfair games, Gloom (which are exclusive to this event), Castle Panic, Munchkin (exclusive bookmarks for this event), Dominion, and others I'm not remembering.

--Tribe is also discounting the ENTIRE STORE by 10% for the day.  Everything from board games to comics to miniatures games are all 10% off for TableTop Day.  Save some money and support your local game shop!

--Tribe will be one of the stores featured in the live webcast of the event.  Geek and Sundry will be broadcasting throughout the day, and Tribe is one of the stores that they're going to talk to.  This could be your chance at Internet fame.

--It's not just demos.  Sure, we'll have demos available, but there will be space for you to play whatever you like.  Round up some friends and come play a game.  Tribe is moving the layout of the store to accommodate game space.  So feel free to bring YOUR favorite game.

I'll be out there all day helping to run the event, so at the very least, you can come play a game with me.  But I hope to see a lot of you there!  This is also an excellent chance to bring in that person that you know that would love board games, but just hasn't tried them yet.  We all know one or two of those folks, and I'll have a lot of games that are perfect for starting gamers.
