Well, it's clear that summer's coming. Hot. Hot hot hot. But even summertime isn't as hot as South Austin Game Night! We'll be playing tonight, as we do every Tuesday from 6 to 11 at Rockin' Tomato on S. Lamar. We're also out in force on Sundays starting at 2 PM playing. The crowd's building on Sundays; check it out!

Hey, people, do you like games? Of course you do. In just two short weekends, you can play games that AREN'T EVEN OUT YET! Amazing! Protospiel South is coming May 25th through 27th at HubAustin coworking center (4700 S. Congress). If you're a designer with a game in development, bring it out and get some feedback. If you're a player, then your feedback is needed! Even better, players can just pay what they like for the convention. As a player, if you can only make it for a couple hours, that's okay; you don't have to commit to the whole convention. It starts on Friday evening with dinner, and will be from 9 AM to 10 PM on Saturday and Sunday. http://www.protospielsouth.com/

And tickets for BoardGameGeek.Con are still available! They've been hovering at near capacity for a while now, so don't delay. Get your tickets for an UH-MAY-ZING experience. Seriously, people. It's great. I'll be arranging another Medieval Times trip for after the con, so make sure to include that in your plans.

Via Board Game Bash, I got a publisher that sent over a demo of a new game. It's called Whose Got Game? and it's a social, party game. I'll bring it by tonight if anyone wants to try it.

Speaking of Board Game Bash, pre-registration is open for the convention. The convention starts on the evening of Friday, August 3rd through the night of Sunday, August 5th. 50 hours of gaming! Pre-registration is $35, and comes with the much-coveted MYSTERY GRAB BAG. There will be tournaments of Dominion, Small World, Memoir '44, Munchkin, and one or two others currently being discussed. Boards and Brews is playing Tomb (1 spot left) and Dragon Rampage (full, but you can do the waiting list).
