Hey, everyone.  I've got good news and bad news.

First off, the bad news:  For anyone that was at SAGN on Tuesday, you heard that in order to make Tuesdays more in line with the rest of the week, they will now be closing at 10 PM on Tuesday instead of 11.  This is a super bummer because that last hour of gaming is pretty well populated, and we generally count on it.  For the time being, SAGN will officially just be from 6 to 10 PM, but folks are always free to come out early and play.  The Tomato has generally been good, enthusiastic hosts for us, so don't see this as something terrible.  They're good folks, and I think they see this as doing what's best for them.

Having said that, for those that don't know, SAGN has always been sponsored by Tribe Comics and Games.  They started SAGN because they couldn't offer a game night in the store, but still wanted to contribute to the board game community.  They've been super supportive with demos, promotion, and such, and without Tribe there would be no SAGN.

So that leads me to the good news.  Tribe is moving.  The new location is in the same shopping center as Rockin' Tomato in the corner by Subway and the former Man Bites Dog.  So that's good!  The new location is over twice the size, with a large portion of that going purely to game space.  As such, SAGN will be moving to Tribe starting on August 5th (right after Board Game Bash).  This is a good thing for all of us.  First off, Tribe will be open later, with the close being more flexible, so you won't be rushed to finish games.  Second, the library of games that I'm currently holding will all be readily available there, so there will be better selection of stuff to try.  Third, you can buy new games on the spot at game night, or special order games and they'll be there waiting for you.  Fourth, you can bring in food from wherever you prefer: the Tomato, Kerbey Lane, Torchy's, Subway, Wholly Cow, or brown bag it from home.  Lastly, and probably best of all, we'll be able to have more room and better lighting for our games!  And, naturally, if you do want pizza, Rockin' Tomato will be happy to deliver right to SAGN at Tribe.

We're still a couple months away from the move, but I wanted everyone to know what was going on.  It's a downer that we'll only have until 10 PM for the time being, but that's a temporary problem.  Starting August 5, we'll have the space at Tribe, and will be better than ever!  (Plus, with the new space, Tribe will be able to host in-store events.  I'm already planning Netrunner and Dominion events!)

Feel free to e-mail me (jgra...@gmail.com) or post here if you have any questions.  I'll be happy to answer, or find out the answer.

Thanks!

Jonathan

PS: Speaking of events at Tribe, if you're an X-Wing player, they're running the pre-release event Assault at Imdaar Alpha next Saturday (the 31st).  Get a chance to see the new ships early and win some!

PPS: If you're on both this list and the SAGN Meetup, you'll get this message twice.  Sorry!

Glad to hear the good news outweighs the bad. Can't wait to meet up at new Tribe!
