This is a tool that has evolved over several years and achieves much more than just debloating a Windows install. I have expanded it to install the programs you select, which is a bigger selection than ninite. The classic debloat is there, but also includes a tweaks section with quality of life features. To round out everything, I have included my recommended settings for Windows update that I use in a variety of businesses. Misuse of this utility can break your install so please be careful and I do not provide any help or assistance should this happen!
There are four main parts of this utility but I can expand this to an infinite number of tabs if expansion is needed and will probably happen in the future. As of the writing of this article there is 4 main parts: install, debloat, features and old panels, and windows updates. Let me breakdown what each part does and what you should use.
Debloating windows is always a moving target and there are many utilities out there. Many of them are too heavy handed in my opinion. This takes a more minimal approach that should not damage your Windows install. At the top there are three buttons Desktop, Laptop, and Minimal. Is there a tool that will show me what applications are writing to the hard drive in real time? I'm thinking something like Task Manager but for I/O. I've got a number of background processes running, and can never tell when Visual Studio is holding everything up, or some other process is hogging the disk (especially when the processor is running at less than 20%).
WinDirStat is a disk usage statistics viewer and cleanup tool for various versions of Microsoft Windows.
Note: if you are looking for an alternative for Linux, you are looking for KDirStat (apt-get install kdirstat or apt-get install k4dirstat on Debian-derivatives) or QDirStat and for MacOS X it would be Disk Inventory X or GrandPerspective.
I have just clean installed Windows 11, coming from 10. I'm wondering if I should install all the basic programs with WinUtil tool (alongside tweaks) without going for Ninite. The tool worked flawlessly for Windows 10 and I just want to confirm the same for 11.
Windows snipping tool doesn't have any way to let us draw straight lines by pressing Shift. Windows Ink Workspace is another tool that supports snipping and drawing the snipped portion. It has a virtual ruler that helps us to draw straight lines.
I have an even lower-tech solution: I need a straight horizontal highlight in my snip, so I move the Task Bar to one side, drag my Snipping Tool window until the line I want to highlight is aligned on the bottom edge of my screen plus a couple pixels, then highlight while keeping the cursor pushing against the bottom. The cursor can't move off the bottom of the screen, so it's like using it as a straight edge tool.
Yeah, the new tool "Snip & Sketch" in Windows 11 allows you to draw straight lines if you turn the ruler on. It's kludgy and helps us all to understand Microsoft. What's the one thing every freaken' user on the planet said they needed for the screen capture app? The ability to easily draw straight lines. You know what have worked great? Holding the freaken' shift key down the way every other application does it. But, no, you've got to turn on a ruler and go slow. Even with the ruler, if you're a little fast? Your highlight goes above the ruler and highlights something else.
When I use the synchronize windows function, and start to manually draw an ROI, there is no problem. Also, if I would like to update the ROI by holding down the shift key and drawing a second shape, I can get two ROIs to be shown, (although the first ROI sometimes gets messed up in this step). However, if I continue and would like to add a third shape, the first ROI drawn is lost. Only the two most recent ROIs can be kept.
It is true that I could add several ROIs one by one to the manager and then combine them, and then delete the ROI from the manager afterward, but I am curious if there is something I am missing about the sync windows that would be a better/simpler solution.

As @Polanskiman already wrote, Synology's downloads for DSM 6.2 have been removed from their archive. Don't know if they bring them back. I added the new links from "global.download.synology.com" inside the tool (V1.3.2) which work.
I know you have restored but @jensmanderhasnt changed/actualized the link in his first post at the moment when i tried to download his new version of windows tool. He did it a few seconds/minutes after then. Now everything is allright.
