Hi,

I wonder if it is possible to do root locus plots in sage?

The root locus plot of a complex function is basically the zero locus
of the imaginary part but it should be equipped
with various markings.

Regards,
Michel

if this is possible .. some of my control theory friends will jump into sage  ....

is it there?

as far as i know there isn't a direct function for it

regards ...

Can you give a web link to an explanation of a toy example? The
Wikipedia article was less than helpful (and indeed is marked for
cleanup), and other resources I found were better, but didn't quite
explain a precise mathematical definition.

Certainly it looks like it could be a matter of plotting an implicit
plot of the zeros of the function in the complex plane, and adding
special points at these open and closed points; there is no reason it
couldn't be done, and added as a module if people liked it.
