Hi --

I'm new to Sage, so not sure if I'm reporting a problem with Sage or
with my understanding. I installed the 64bit version of Sage 4.3 on
my Macbook Pro (MacOS 10.6) by dragging the icon to the application
folder. It fires up ok, and the notebook interface seems to work
fine. But the Sage text window never releases control to the keyboard,
and the little spinner icon in the lower left corner never stops
spinning. Reinstalled a couple of times which made no difference.

Any advice?

I had exactly the same problem and contacted William Stein. He
replied
yesterday on this website that he has prepared a new version of
the .dmg file.
You can find it on http://boxen.math.washington.edu/home/wstein/binaries/.
This package provides the usual sage functionality. However there are
several issues with plotting. See for a few examples my earlier post.

Hope this helps !

You should be able to use the 32-bit 10.5 version on 10.6 without
those issues, by the way.

Thanks, I'll give the 32bit version a try.
