github build using master branch 10.8 and failure during configure

Hello:

I cannot get beyond a ./configure failure which says a directory is missing for zeromq. The configure log file says to run bootstrap again to build the missing directory but this is failing, as I have tried it at least 3 times.

How do I fix this problem?
