I am trying to install sage on my PC with cygwin64  (running windows10)
Install failed for GSL package.
Have attached log file.

Is the right place to post this?

Any solution for this problem?

Could not find anything relevant in
 https://trac.sagemath.org/wiki/Cygwin64Port

Thanks
FG

Hi,

If you just want to use SageMath under Windows 10,
a new SageMath installer for Windows was developed
by Erik Bray, using Cygwin behind-the-scenes.

To try it out, download the .exe from the first item at

Another way is to install the Ubuntu PPA using the
"Windows Subsystem for Linux" that can be installed
in certain versions of Windows 10.

Another way is using a virtual machine.

See a recap on Ask Sage at

That said, having people successfully install on Cygwin
from the sources would be very valuable for the Sage
community, so thanks for trying that and for reporting,
hopefully some SageMath on Cygwin experts can help.

Buildbots for SageMath on Cygwin are in the process of
being installed by Erik Bray, in order to ensure that future
versions of SageMath will consistently build on Cygwin.

Your question also suggests it would be worth updating the
wiki page you mention with some of the information here.

Best, Samuel

this is a recent update, probably noone yet has got around to try this on Cygwin.
You might try downgrading to gsl-1.16, or rather try to find out why gsl 2 does not build on
Cygwin.

Probably Cygwin supplies its own gsl version, so it's good to try to find out how they make it to work.
