secure sage-5.9 notebook with htaccess?

Hi,

we installed sage-5.9 on a server in our institute on a Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS. Is it possible to secure the access the notebook with htaccess or something like this? We want to open the port to the internet such that all members of the team can access the note at home without a ssh tunnel. But we would like to restrict the access with a username and a password.
