Dear developers,

I have been trying to install Sage on my macOS (Version 12.1 Monterey). I tried installing it via the .tar and the .dmg files, but both methods failed for various reasons. I am attaching the crash report that was generated when I tried using the dmg file.

Thanks

Best regards

This is an M1 machine, right?
I don't think we already support these. See

The recommended binaries for macOS, namely

are known to work fine on M1, though using Rosetta emulation for Sage 9.4.  An M1-native version should be available for the upcoming SageMath 9.5, and a prerelease version has been posted at the above, though it has some known issues.

Best,

Nathan
