Hi,

Mac OS 10.13.4.  Upgrade from 8.1 to 8.2.  Hangs at

  [ncurses-6.0.p0] config.status: creating include/ncurses_cfg.h

This happened when I used "sage --upgrade" and it occurs again with "sage -i ncurses".

I will try to build from scratch and see if that works any better.

Same happened building from scratch. The relevant part of the log
file (at least, I hope that this is the relevant part):

make[4]: *** No rule to make target '@Libs_To_Make@', needed by 'all'. Stop.

That's in directory

.../ncurses-6.0.p0/src/narrow

Thanks.

Hi,

I found the problem, though I can't quite figure it out. The build hangs at:

overwrite ncurses/Makefile? (y/n [n])

and I have to type in "y" (multiple times, for several directories) to
get the build to finish. I have aliased cp to "cp -i" and "mv" to "mv
-i". I suspect that one of those two is the problem, but I haven't
had time to read the file more carefully.

What do you mean this *exactly*?

My fault. I should have written "My .bashrc file aliases cp to 'cp
-i' and mv to 'mv -i'".

Strangely, unaliasing those commands did not stop the problem. I
still had to type in "y" a bunch of times after I tried the command
"sage -i ncurses". I must have set some other strange default.--Rob

I'd suggest opening a pristine shell, which does not source anything
from ~/ , and work in it.
(or else, check the contents of ~/.bashrc ~/.loginrc, etc...)
