Hello,

When I try to execute

var('x y z')
implicit_plot3d(x^2+y^2+z^2==4, (x, -3, 3), (y, -3,3), (z, -3,3))

within http://www.sagenb.org using Firefox the Jmol applet apparently
loads but then gives the message 'Jmol script terminated' (lower left
corner of browser). Here is the error from the console:

UserAgentSwitcher.initialize: [Exception... "Could not convert
JavaScript argument" nsresult: "0x80570009
(NS_ERROR_XPC_BAD_CONVERT_JS)" location: "JS frame ::
chrome://useragentswitcher/content/upgrade.js :: anonymous :: line
219" data: no]

Any suggestions?

That works fine for me, using sagenb and Firefox. Can you reproduce
this? I would remove all other 3d plots in the worksheet (i.e.
comment them out) if there are any, and then restart Firefox and try
again.

You are not alone in this problem. I and others have this problem
also and I have not seen a solution posted here even though several
have complained about it.

This is a problem for me on multiple computers with firefox. I
restarted firefox in 'safe mode' to disable all my extensions to see
if that was the problem. It did not make any difference.

I CAN use jmol on other sites without any issues.

Have you tried on any other sites that use jmol as a 3D viewer? If
that works for you too then it must be something with sage notebook.

For example, you could go here: http://www.bioinformatics.org/jmol-tutorials/wiki/

and click on the JTAT demonstration or any of the other sites.

jmol also fails completely for me when accessing a remote Sage
notebook using the latest Firefox 3.5 and the latest Java 1.6 under
32-bit Windows XP but the same worksheet works fine when using the
same combination under 32-bit Windows Vista. I don't have any solution
het but using Windows Internet Explorer works fine on both systems.

Bill Page.
