Hey everyone,
I've been in Rennes for a couple weeks, thinking about precision for various objects defined over p-adic rings and fields.  One of the things I've been working on is a list of projects related to the p-adics that I'd like to see people (including myself) work on.  You can find it at http://wiki.sagemath.org/padics.

I had a number of motivations for creating this list.  First, I'd like to get more people working on p-adics in Sage, and so I want to advertise what I see is productive projects to work on.  There are features that I'd like to be able to use, and it would be great if other people helped to implement them!

Second, I'm often not very good at keeping my projects self contained: they tend to expand as I keep adding features until they're completely unmanagable.  By writing plans down beforehand and hopefully collaborating with others on them, I'm hoping to be able to break these projects down into pieces that are more managable to write and more managable to referee.

I need your help on both fronts.  Find some projects that looks interesting and add your name to the lists of collaborators.  Update some of the descriptions, let me know if you have questions about them, break the steps down further, disagree with my evaluations on priority or difficulty.  Add your own projects.  Once a project is fleshed out enough, we can make trac tickets and note which tasks in each project will fall under which trac ticket.

I'd like to have more collaboration on p-adics in Sage, and hope this wiki page will be useful to coordinate that.
David
