2) fixing non displaying graphics, when an output cell also contained some output text.

The second issue was problematic for me, since I use Sage notebook to plot R graphics, and R plots often print some additional output text. My old worksheets wouldn't display graphics at all.

Thanks for catching this.   Man, we are going to need some REALLY heavy-duty testing if this new frontend ever will get in...

Why don't you create pull requests for these things?

If shipping both the old and the new notebooks and providing an easy way to switch is not crazy difficult to make, IMHO a quick and natural way to perform the testing is:

* Sage 5.n : offer it as an alternative, together with the old one, with an easy switch. The boldest users will polish it quite a bit. Whenever it is (apparently) almost usable, go to next step.

* Sage 5.n+epsilon : set it as the default, with the possibility to easily go back to the old one. At the end of this step, it should have the same usability as the old one.

* Sage 5.n+epsilon+delta : remove the old one.

Cheers,
Jesús Torrado
