zeromq and sage cell and installation

If I understand the problem correctly, it doesn't have to do with the
sage cell server. The problem is that:

sage -i zeromq

doesn't work, but extracting the zeromq spkg and manually running the
spkg-install file in the sage shell does work.

What does the build log of the working build look like? Is it finding
the same alloca.h?
