Dear Sagemath Team, I am Tishang Prajapati, a student at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai. I am writing to express my interest in participating in the Google Summer of Code program with the Sagemath Team. As an intermediate-level Python programmer with experience in mathematics, I would like to contribute to the "Algorithms for Dynamical Systems" project. I am interested in applying my knowledge of number theory and learning and improving new algorithms to contribute to this project. Although I do not have prior experience with Sage, I have already cloned the repository and set up everything to work. I have looked at some of the current open issues on your Github repository but have not been able to identify one that is easy to fix. I am willing to contribute this summer and learn more along the way, working on this project. I am aware that I need to present a GSoC Application Proposal, and I would appreciate the opportunity to refine my application with the guidance of the mentors of the "Algorithms for Dynamical Systems" project, Alex Galarraga and Ben Hutz. Best regards, Tishang Prajapati

Hi,
I would like to know who is a mentor for the idea 'Implement matrix spaces over commutative semirings' as it is not mentioned in the ideas list. I have gone through the implementation of rings, semirings, and matrix space over rings. I have also started working on one of the issues.
I would like to discuss further details required for the proposal with a mentor.

Regards
Atharva Deore

Dear Atharva,
This forum is one of the best places to discuss aspects of the projects as it can be seen by all of the SageMath mentors (who will view the proposal as part of the review process). Currently for that idea, there is no specific mentor who has said they will only mentor that (over, say, another project). However, that does not mean there are not people who would be willing to mentor that. Instead, mentors will chose the projects they want during the review of all of the proposals; what is listed on the ideas page is just an idea about who the mentor(s) could be.

Best,
Travis
