Rob Benedetto's book is probably the best reference without having to track down a bunch of individual papers:

Dynamics in One Non-archimedean Variable (Graduate Studies in Mathematics 198, American Mathematical Society)

Since there is nothing at all in Sage right now, the project would start with just getting a way to represent Berkovich points in Sage and (since my interest is dynamics) working towards some of the dynamical systems algorithms from say Bob Rumely.

Hi,

I'm Mihail. I'm currently a first-year mathematics PhD student at Rutgers University.
My main areas of focus are Algebra and Algebraic Geometry.
I am interested in working on the Berkovich Projective Line project.
On this note, is there a canonical reference for this topic?

Best,
Mihail
