Acceptable practices wrt CCIng

Hi, 

is it an acceptable practice to CC mentors who might be relevant to a project when asking questions? 

I asked a question recently on this group, but am not sure if the mentors of the project are on this group or not.

   It would be better practice to instead simply post your message/question(s) here without anyone in cc at this stage.
