Lie group actions on manifolds

Hi

I'm Jia En. I'm interested in lie groups and differential geometry. I noticed that there was a possible project for lie group actions on manifolds offered last year, but not this year. Would it still be possible for me to work on this? If Dr Tobias Diesz is no longer able to supervise it would it be possible for me to work with another supervisor on it?

I completed a bachelor of science degree with a specialisation in mathematics in 2025. I have taken a course in differential geometry which includes vector bundles, connections, curvature and tensors. I have taken some classes in algebra from linear algebra, groups, modules, rings, field extensions and galois groups, algebraic topology and algebraic geometry. I have also taken a class in representation theory.  

My programming experience is modest, I have taken a class in algorithms and data structures. I also use Leetcode regularly, but I would like to work on this in order to understand lie groups more deeply as well as to get more experience developing software.
